Tigers on a winning streak
Tigers ended their KCL 2010 campaign with their second win in consecutive matches by beating Predators by 10 runs in a Group A match played at Koiwa.
Batting first, Tigers were off to a disastrous start loosing half their side for a meagre 43 runs. Then a fighting 47 run partnership from the in-form Abraham and their stand in captain Sakthikumar enabled the Tigers to reach a modest score of 108 all out in 34 overs
In reply, Predators started a bit better and were 25 for no loss at one stage. But once the dangerous Pramod Patel started bowling, wickets started to fall in a heap and Predators suddenly found themselves at 68/8 staring a certain defeat. Prasad and Gurdeep staged a mini recovery to take them closer but a brilliant catch by Babu T.S brought the curtains down for Predators and they were all out for 98 runs.
In the end, the Tigers were left rueing the 2 run loss against Nagoya which otherwise would have given them a fair chance of qualifying for the Semis.
Brief Scores
Tigers - 108 all out in 34 overs(Abraham 24, Sakthi 20, Ravi 3/6, Prasad 3/14)
Predators - 98 all out in 29.5 overs (Prasad 22, Gurdeep 15, Pramod 4/12)

Engineers redeem themselves and reach KCL semifinals
After a shock defeat in their last match, Engineers regrouped and put up a commanding performance in a must win match against Serendib to become the first team from Group A to reach the semifinals of KCL 2010. In a match played at Koiwa, Engineers beat Serendib by 7 wickets for the first time in 4 or 5 attempts between these two teams.
Batting first, Serendib started well, with both Jayantha and Asanka seeing off the new ball and forming a good opening partnership of 49 before Jayantha fell. From then on, runs were hard to come by with the Engineers bowlers led by Shailaj Lal (8-1-23-3) having a firm grip on the proceedings. Finally Serendib were all out for a modest 118 in 33.3 overs
Even though Engineers were chasing a modest score, against Serendib with their bowling attack backed up by brilliant fielding, it is always a tough ask. After some initial hiccups, the new addition Kamal Adhikari (63* 7x4, 3x6) rose to the occasion with a gritty Masood Khan(28* 1x4) for support in a match winning unbroken 4th wicket partnership of 91 runs to guide the Engineers to a semifinal place after a long gap in KCL. Engineers has been in brilliant form all through this season and would look to carry on against tougher opponents in the knock outs.
Brief Scores
Serendib C.C - 118 all out in 33.3 overs(Jayantha 20, Asanka 21, Buddhika 20, Shailaj 3/23, Masood 2/5)

Tigers upsets Engineers to register their first win in KCL
After agonizingly falling short against Nagoya in their previous game, Tigers wrote history with their first win in KCL by beating Engineers in a close match played at Edogawa today. This defeat has been a jolt for the semifinal aspirations of Engineers. Now they must beat Serendib in their next match to have any hopes of qualifying for the semis.
After winning the toss and bating first, Engineers with a strong batting lineup struggled through their whole innings. They never could dominate the Tigers' bowling with Pramod Patel and Ramasubramaniam snapping 3 wickets apiece to tighten the noose around the opposition. Only 3 players crossed double figures with Vezley being the top scorer with 21 (23b 1x4, 1x6). If not for the generous extras(49 including 36 wides and 5 no balls) conceded by Tigers, Engineers position would have been more pathetic. Engineers in the end folded up for 129 in the 30th over.
Tigers made a cautious start to their innings seeing off their opening bowlers. After an opening partnership of 25 runs, Engineers struck with quick wickets to reduce the Tigers to 49/4 and then Pramod Patel in a brilliant all round performance (8-1-18-3 and 38runs off 42b 3x4, 2x6) with Abraham Thomas forged a match winning partnership to take the Tigers to 107. With just 23 runs needed, Engineers fought back well with 3 quick wickets to bring the match into a thrilling climax. With tension mounting, Tigers' keeper Ramdas camly pulled a short ball over square leg to bring the Tigers closer and finally take them to the much awaited first win in KCL.

Al Karam gives the Giants an absolute shellacking and reach the semifinals
In one of the most important match of this season at Ageo, Al Karam bowlers led their team to an upset win against the mighty Giants, the defending champions, to become the first team from Group B to reach the 2010 KCL Semifinals

In a stunning spell Ahmad Kamal broke the top order of Al Karam to reduce them to a precarious 6 for 4 in the first 3 overs of the innings. But Al Karam was still feeling fine with the knowledge that, they posses one of the most treasured batsman in Japan, the redoutable Hanif Niazi.
