Indian Engineers C.C Vs Lalazar C.C
October 16 At Ageo
A match that was not to be but made to be because both teams agreed to play on a slushy outfield because of the love of the game! An overnight rain had rendered the ground almost impossible to play but the combined will of the teams prevailed over the perceived unplayable conditions.
Lalazar won the toss and elected to bat first but their stroke players were sent back in quick succession. Reduced to 73/7 with only 10 batsmen, the last two batsmen helped post a reasonably good score of 113. Engineers chase faltered in the face of Usman's attack who generated considerable pace and bounce. Only a technically correct Shailaj Lal survived Usman's pace and variation. Skipper Gulzar took care of the Engineers' middle order batsmen with his gentle pace and claimed 4 scalps. Lal was the last man out, caught behind, but not before completing his well deserved half century.
Lalazar 113 (23.1 ov). Ashiq 26, Kunal Gandhi 3/36
I Engineers 77(24.3 ov). S Lal 50. Usman 3/14, Gulzar 4/21

Batting first Lalazar posted a challenging 158 aided by some indisciplined bowling and dropped catches. In reply Tigers started steadily but accurate bowling made scoring difficult with only Pramod Patel making any statement of defiance but once he was out the game was as good was over.
Lalazar 158/9(24 ov). 29, Parthi 4/24, Babu 3/10
Tigers 123/10(28.5 ov). Pramof 48, Fayaz 5/24.
